A classic with a twist, the First Hess Truck Bank took 1982's replica of company founder Leon Hess's original 1933 fuel oil delivery truck, and added a bank feature. It's the same truck, but with added dividends, thanks to the coin slot at the top of the truck's tank. Kids could turn the fill cap beside the slot to open the center compartment and access their coins. For the first time since 1966, this year's box art placed the featured truck in a contextual wintry setting for a full panel, a tradition which would continue for the next 20 years.
