Victor Vasarely (1906 - 1997) was known as the grandfather of optical illusion art (Op Art). Internationally recognized as one of the most important artists of the 20th century, his innovations in color and optical illusion have had a strong influence on many modern artists. Today, Victor Vasarely’s prints, paintings, collages and sculptures are celebrated in numerous exhibits all around the world.
This limited edition silkscreen (serigraph) is numbered 239 of 250 and is entitled "Mertan". Mertan is part of Vasarely's Homage a l'Hexagone series and this particular artwork was started by him in 1979 and completed in 1981. Beautifully framed and matted, this incredible artwork is in immaculate condition - no watermarks, stains, bends, buckles etc. It is artist signed in pencil. Measures 37" X 44".
