Offered for sale is Phoenix Rising, a 2002 QVC Special Run model created on the Silver mold. This buckskin pinto decorator features the silhouette of a phoenix hidden in his white pattern. 1,200 pieces of this model were made, and he features a copy of sculptor Kathleen Moody’s signature printed underneath his tail.

Although this model is normally serially numbered, this particular piece does not feature one. This, combined with the fact that this model is an archive piece, means that he is likely a sample model.

What is a “sample model?” This model is a “sample,” which is an important part of Breyer's production process. This model was one of the first of its kind off of our factory’s production line, and was used by the Breyer Product Development Team as a final check before full-scale production of this model began. There is no COA.
