Lovely and large piece of chinoiserie art pieces on wood board.  The images of the emperor and empress are somewhat two dimensional.  I was told they were carved out of soapstone and then hand painted...but I am not sure it is soapstone.  They have amazing detail.  They are impressive in size.  30"W x 48"H (that's the dimension of the frame - the brass hardware at the top extends another 1.5").  The frames are 1.25"D.  They are on a matte black background with a gilded design that borders the rosewood frame.  They each have two decorative brass mounts at the top of the frame.
