The chain looked real to me but I tested it with a gold testing kit and I don't believe it's real gold but it will not stick to a magnet. This chain is very nice and there is no visible tarnishing. I have no idea on the metal purity though. There are no stamps on it. THE LOBSTER CLAW Clasp is missing and was replaced with a fixed silver toned ring. Necklace needs repair if you want to use a clasp.
