Lot#23 Native American Made Plains Indian Reproduction Hand Painted Rawhide "Parfleche Bag" w/ deerskin fringe, blue & red wool trade cloth, beadwork, and hand painted with traditional colors & designs.

A common Plains Indian storage container, the rawhide parfleche, so called from the French phrase "par une fleche", which meant "to turn an arrow", was an envelope pattern bag made while the hide was still wet. When it was thoroughly dry, it was etched and painted in geometric designs
