We know this beauty is European. We know it’s definitely late 1700’s to Early 1800’s. And we know the settlers used it to haul there goods here to the states. It is in incredible condition for age! I don’t believe you will find a nail or screw in it. It is all very early wooden pegs as I’m pointing to in pic. It is a lift off dome top cover. It has wormholes as it should.( not termites nor are there any) You simply just don’t find antiques in original condition such as this every day. Great piece to fill with wood on your hearth, toys, or whatever you need to store.
