Description:

Earliest commercial medium for recording & reproducing sound. Greatest popularity 1896-1915. Hollow cylinders have audio recording engraved on the outside surface, & were played on a mechanical cylinder phonograph. Some are a bit rough, but case was buried & unopened for who knows how long. Mostly waltzes, fox trot, etc. I’m fairly old but didn’t recognize these EARLY recordings. (Exception: Turkey in the Straw!)

Other examples: Blue Feather Duet, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere, The Rosary Song, The Village Constable, Messenger Boy March, etc.
