This I believe is the oldest camera just dug out of this massive lot of cameras. I’ve never heard of Ray camera company. Sure enough if you Google it the history will show this camera was made by the Ray Camera Co, around 1895. This camera itself appears to be complete. Check out the dovetail corners, the brass, and the mahogany wood inside. Even the bellows look to be in great shape. The only issue I see is the outside of (Vinyl??) Is peeling off. I’m guessing that can be re-done pretty easily. There’s a loose brass plate the camera slides out on. Not sure why it was ever taken off, but the brass screws are there to put it right back on as pics show. Then this camera was in the original case with a box of glass slides and the wooden frame you put the glass slides in! To research something I’ve never had I use EBay as a quick reference guide. Good luck finding one there. None! Which tells me this camera is rare and hard to find. If you need to know any more about this item please ask! I have no idea on cameras and will be happy to provide as much info as you need.
