History of potter.

Ken Jensen was born Dec. 28 1951 in Minnesota and moved to Florida when he was very young. He went to school at University of Florida in Gainesville to study art and received a BFA degree in 1977.   He first made pottery as an apprentice to Bruce Green in 1973. He set up his own studio shortly after and had a store front in Micanopy, Florida in the 1980's.  He moved to St. Augustine in 1993 and has now been making pottery for well over 40 years. Raku pottery gets it's distinguished look as a result of being removed from the kiln while still glowing red hot. Other ceramics are slowly cooled inside the kiln.
