Gene Mack, born Eugene McGillicudy just outside of Boston in 1890, was a commericial artist for the Boston Globe. He not only provided illustrations for the Sporting News, he also drew graphics for some of the fiction stories published by The Globe. He spent over 35 years at The Globe. Many of his drawings, illustrations and photos now reside in Cooperstown at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
