These beautiful containers were used to discreetly hide the cans of condensed milk, produced for the first time in 1827, on your table. Many china patterns included them to match the rest of your table service. The can of milk was placed inside and once the meal was over, they were pushed out through the hole in the bottom. They have also been used to discreetly serve jams, jellies and honey.
