This beauty came from same home as most of these great antiques did I’m listing. The house was like walking into a museum!! This rocking horse is great! Please notice the cast iron wheels I’m pointing to on the straight base. Now I’m not sure why it would have been made this way with those wheels the way they are?? I’m thinking and I could be wrong that the straight board and wheels the horse is actually mounted to was added to the rocker?? All I know is you can take the rocker off easy if you wanted with 4 screws. But then again and as I look at it, the red on each end of rocker is same color red as pole the horse is on. All old paint too so maybe it was built this way purposely. Either way, this is a great item of American Folk Art. I could not find it signed anywhere. It Does appear under chipped paint of horse that it’s wood. Can’t promise you though on that.
