Unless one of you know exactly what I have here you will be researching a lot! I have! And this is what I’ve learned so far. Marlboro started making cigarettes in the 20’s. These cigarettes were actually geared towards woman. The “Ivory Tips” were so woman did not smudge their lipstick. Now the gentleman I got these from and during his years of having them had found out or told this particular pack was made around 1929-1930. I can’t find anything to verify this however. As I research I’m seeing several “similar” but not identical packaging as this. I cannot find this exact same package anywhere. During your research you will see “ivory tipped” but with a reddish color at top of pkg. those came after these to help blend in with a woman’s lipstick. I did find what I thought was an identical package anywhere but the shield logo on front was different and near bottom it says Made In USA; this pack doesn’t. So now I’m done and it’s all yours. It’s something I think should either go on EBay or through a well known Tobacciana auction. Because what I did find in one of the articles I found was that big time collectors will spend thousands of dollars for these early SEALED packs! I did find newer packs that sold for 500.00. And I found a really beat up newer pack that sold for 120.00. Point is I don’t really know what I have here so up to you folks to figure it out. Again though, when you think you’ve found the exact same packaging, compare it to every line, word, color, & shield on this pack. If any of you know a big time collector who has nothing but the best you may want to run this by them. It could just be the biggest “sleeper” in an auction this year!
