There’s a whole lot of history here but this is all I can tell you. Research him! We were fortunate to secure quite a few of assorted Russian Bronzes; this being one and the only one just like it. Our understanding is they were all taken down/ removed out of Europe many years ago and brought to the states. Once here they sat for many years in a storage unit in Orlando. We got the call to go take a look and agreed on the purchase. These are something else and something you just don’t see everyday. We are estimating this bronze to weigh 200 pounds!! It was definitely hanging and mounted at one time in Russia as you can see the very heavy hook on back along with hole on each side to bolt to wall. The patina is excellent! Check out the thickness of it! Very solid heavy bronze and in really nice condition! Don’t wait to get your max bids in and own not only serious history, but something no one else has!
