Description:
Nicely framed photograph of "Lunch Atop a Skyscraper," a famous black-and-white photograph taken in 1932 during the construction of the RCA Building (now the Comcast Building) at Rockefeller Center in New York City. Measures 21-1/4 x 17-1/4 inches.

The photograph depicts 11 ironworkers eating lunch on a steel beam, 840 feet (260 m) above the ground.

It was taken on September 20, 1932, and published in the New York Herald-Tribune on October 2, 1932.

The photographer's identity was uncredited for many years, but it is now widely attributed to Charles C. Ebbets.

The photograph is a well-known symbol of the Great Depression and the spirit of American workers.
