This thimble came in the little box you see with these two pieces of paper folded up under it. I really wish I knew my Asian antiques better as this may seriously be worth a small fortune! It came out of the same shed we have been cleaning out in Silver Springs. It was in the nice old trunk I’ve already listed. These folks lived oversees for years in Okinawa while he was in the military. These items have been stored for upwards of the last 50 years In this shed.
The note was written by the mom (Deceased)(who wrote notes about many of the items we found) but obviously I can’t say it’s “at least 600 years old”. The other paper however shows this thimble is know to be over 100 years old. There are no markings on it. I took to jeweler( to have some gold checked) and this tested as “at least 800 silver” per the jeweler. I wish I could tell you more as I’d like to know! If it is in fact 600 years old it has to have significant value. Quite the conversation piece for sure!
