This piece has been shown to Crocker Stoneware in Maryland who are experts with this type of material. We did get a response from them however they only specialize in American stoneware & Redware. They said this piece was definitely very early and pre Columbian but that we should locate an expert in this field. We never got to it so here it is. This may be the big “sleeper” in this auction and make someone a payday. If so, great for you! We just don’t know enough about it either other than me knowing it’s early, Redware, and probably a very expensive piece; even with the damaged top. Stands 9 1/2” tall.
