Description:

So this is description for any Salt & Pepper shakers from this lot to how ever many more I can get listed.
I just acquired 18 Banana boxes FULL of these from a local estate. This is very first box I opened. There were 49 sets in this one box! All individually wrapped, boxed, and brought here in 1989 from upstate NY where they have just sat. I have no idea what I will come across down the road for shakers. This was obviously one unbelievable collection. Some people would have the patience to list one set at a time on EBay. Forget it! I couldn’t do it. There’s no rhyme or reason as to how I’m lotting these up. Basically as they come from box. I think 18 sets is about right for a great lot. As I unwrapped I looked for breaks, chips, Etc.. I have not found any yet. But when I do I pull them out and list accordingly. You need to look closely at pics for what’s in each lot. There may be some that are supposed to be on a bench, etc..I have those too! At the end of trying to pair all of these up( What a Project!) I will list one huge lot of ALL shakers I can’t figure how to pair up and/or individuals where I found one broken. And then I will list all racks/trays racks/hangers, etc, that they were all on at one time. Just overwhelming and lack of patience at this point for me to do by myself!! . I’m just putting the sets together and listing. There’s well over  500+ old salt & peppers in this collection. They are dirty & dusty. I don’t wash anything. There was one set (can’t remember now which one) that was very dirty. I used windex on a paper towel and took it right off so I know they’ll all clean up. I’m adding this comment in now after listing lots all the way down to lot 435…. I’d say 90% of any I have looked at as I’m unwrapping are all from Japan. Lots with paper labels still on them; others with just Japan stamped on them. I’ve seen a very few from China & Taiwan. These lots are Fabulous for the serious collector or dealer! Some may be missing the stopper but most as I quickly look have them.
