This is a very old English Registry mark used in the mid 1800s (from 1842 to 1867). The diamond-shaped English Registry mark, was used by the English patent office since 1842 to identify pieces of English pottery, porcelain, and other products. The mark has the Roman numerals “IV” at the top of the mark if it is for a ceramic. Between 1842 and 1883, the diamond-shaped mark was used. Marks registered from 1842 to 1867 have a letter at the top of the diamond. Marks registered from 1867 to 1883 have a number instead of a letter at the top of the diamond.
There is some slight crazing on the bottom of this very rare piece and a little discoloration where the glazing has seeped over an edge. Given the age of this piece, it is in pretty nice antique condition given its age. Nice collector's item!
See pictures for overall condition. Bring packing supplies for your winnings and help to load large and heavy items.
