This is a very old lithograph of the original painting by Bernard Plockhorst 1886 depicting Jesus being attended by children in the wilderness. Owner estimates it dates back to the 1920s as it was in his family's possession for decades. Nice condition given its age with no fading. There are a few faint age spots around the handwritten inscription.
The inscription on the bottom is the original handwriting of Charles C. Pierce (1861-1946) who was the creator of this lithograph. Original painting from 1886 now resides in the Städtisches Museum in Cologne Germany. Plockhorst (March 2, 1825 – May 18, 1907) was a German painter and graphic artist. His original works reside in many European museums to this day.
