If you've never tried baking or roasting with natural clay stoneware, you're in for a treat!  This is the Huey Chang Baking Stone which could be used for a variety of foods - perfect for making home made Pizza!  A baking stone is made so that it heats evenly, meaning the entire surface is warmed to cook your foods. Since they are also porous, a baking stone will absorb some of the moisture in your bread or dough meaning you will have a slightly crispier crust.  This baking stone has a external rim which is great for making deep dish pizza.  The baking stone will become discolored over the years - this is normal and means your baking stone is seasoning itself properly.

Natural clay stoneware is porous and retains seasoning and flavors, similar to cast iron pans.  If properly cared for, your stoneware baker will last many years.  It is important to note you should never use dish detergent or soap of any kind - it will remove the natural seasoning process and it could also affect the flavors of your baked goods due to the porous nature of stoneware.
