A Wedgwood limited edition 2001 WGC Golf Invitational commemorative plate. The trophy plate was made to commemorate the 2001 WGC AMEX Invitational golf tournament which was supposed to be played at the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis MO but was cancelled due to the 9/11 tragedy. The plate is comprised of Wedgwood jasper ware in blue and white coloration, having bas relief golfing figures. Created in a limited edition by Wedgwood, this one being plate 49 of 120, marked by maker on base.  Beautiful condition with no chips or cracks as it has been displayed behind glass in a climate controlled environment.  Measures 9" in diameter.  Beautiful collector's item even though the tournament was cancelled by mutual agreement between AMEX, PGA and the players.
