Miharu Lane, born in 1948, began her Japanese Women Series in 1975. Influenced by Tales of Genji, written by Lady Murasaki in the 12th century Japan, and by Japonaiseri, art of Japan of the 19th century, she worked on this series until 1989. This limited edition Silkscreen entitled A MESSAGE FROM GENJI was part of this series. It is in fine condition. Some of the matting has lifted from the circular wood frame but the silkscreen itself is in pristine condition. This silkscreen is numbered 138 of 275. This artwork has been professionally framed in a wood frame that was custom made for this piece.
