Beautiful piece of Malaga, Spain history.  This is a porcelain ashtray that was produced in limited numbers by Moisis Alvarez.  Alvarez was commissioned to pieces for the commemoration of Malaga Mayor Fernando Guerrero Strachan

This beautiful piece is in Mint condition.  It has never been used and has been stored over the years in its presentation box which is lined in silk.  The gold gilt trim is perfect and the hand painted crest of arms is also in perfect condition.  The ashtray measures 5 3/8" in diameter.  The presentation box clasp works perfectly, however the box is showing some marks of aging as is shown in the pictures.  

 The interior silk lining is in perfect condition and has not faded.  The box measures 7" square.  It has the backstamp of Moisis Alvarez as well as the hand painted inscription on the underside "Recuerdo del Alcalde de Malaga" which translates to "In Memory of the Mayor of Malaga".
