A very sound example with most of the original finish remaining on blade, pommel and guard. Original finish wooden grip which is marked SLAZ 42. Nice leather scabbard which is maker marked MANGROVITE 42. Blade is marked near the crossguard: "1907" "12" and "42". The crossguard is marked V 747.
SLAZ stands for Slazengers which is the company which took over the wood shop at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory midway through WW2. The "42" represents the year it was made: 1942 and 1907 represents the manufacture model number.
